Artist Statement:
I was inspired by the Pinao, the Giant Hawaiian Dragonfly. It is the earliest winged insect evoving 300 million years ago and endemic to Hawai‘i. I used my own shibori and hand dyed silk, cottons and mixed fibers. It is hand and machine stitched with perle cotton.
