Glory to the Natives
566-15
Artist: Ira Ono
Medium: Mixed Media
Dimensions (inches): 12x12 each
Artist Statement:
Living in the native rainforest of Volcano for
over 30 years, I have explored and observed many native insects. The
fascinating story of their arrival here on our islands is depicted in my
"story collage" painting of colors and images using my Japanese
past-paper techniques. It is like a vortex through time and the elements of
evolution which continues from the past and into the future. Can they survive
with the influx of human intervention?
